Council Meetings

 

The Shire's Council Meetings are held on specific Sundays at 12 noon.
(See the main page for the next date.)


The meeting place:  First Federal Bank "community room",
located at 121 N. Edwards in Newberg.

 

The bank sits on the corner of Hancock (also called 99W) and College.
It is just one block away from our former meeting place at the Coffee Cottage.
The entrance to the bank faces the bank parking lot and Edwards St.
 The community room is to the left of the bank entrance.
 Please Note:  We are not allowed to bring food or drinks into the community room.


 As always, everyone is invited to attend Shire Council.

Practice runs from 6pm until dusk.
(or until we've all had our fill).

Sometimes we gather for dinner afterwards at a local eatery.

Non-fighters are welcome and encouraged to come socialize.

We have a good sized regular attendance,
and welcome more.  If you are planning to attend with a group
from your area, please contact either Michael or Amalric so we
can make sure the regulars all know and can attend.

Gentle Arts Gathering

Gentle Arts Gatherings
(Held at the Chehalem Park & Recretion District Offices)
On the Second Thursday evening of each month, from 4:30 until 9:00, HL Tegan of Conwy will teach calligraphy and illumination at the Mountain Edge Gentle Arts night.
Please contact Tegan at teganconwy@yahoo.com to discuss if there is something specific you would like to learn.

On the other Thursday nights of the month, HL Meadhbha will preside over the same space at the same time. This large space will be available for you to talk Heraldry, work on sewing, or other Gentle Arts projects. Please contact Meadhbha (Sarah Miller) at medhbhabran@yahoo.com or 971-570-2664 if you wish to discuss your project with her.

Directions: The address is 125 S. Elliott Rd, Newberg, OR in the Chehalem Park & Recretion District offices.
Coming from points West of Newberg, drive through Newberg on First Street. This will eventually turn back into Hwy. 99 on the east side of Newberg. Turn right on Elliott Rd (there is a traffic light). Pass Hancock St. and continue on Elliott Rd. Watch for the Chehalem Park & Recreation District Offices sign at the last driveway on the right.
If you go too far you will come to a T in the road which will be 2nd Street. If you get that far you have gone too far! Go back and look for that Chehalem Park & Recreation District Offices sign and turn into that driveway.
After turning into the driveway, look for parking spaces off to the left. There will be a Recreation & Park offices sign and maybe also an Art Vine sign.
Go in and ask where Sarah's meeting space is; it's a little hard to find the first time.
